Business processes describe a sequence of interlocking activities that ultimately aim to provide a product or service.
Business processes consist of several components:
• Management processes
• operational processes or core processes (implementation)
• supporting processes (e.g.: human resources / accounting / ...)
Each component has a clear task that is implemented in a fixed process sequence.
Business processes are a fixed structure in a company, but they should also be regularly checked for efficiency and effectiveness with regard to existing production processes, development and business processes as well as the use of resources. The suitability for innovations, such as the digitization of various work steps or new manufacturing technologies as well as new structures (e.g. personnel, reorganization of departments) must also be consistently checked and optimized if necessary.
