Personal responsibility, i.e. commitment and drive, is promoted in the company when managers pay attention to the following basic needs of employees:
Social needs: People like to feel like they belong to a group and want to work together as a team. Managers should therefore promote cohesion and team spirit within the workforce. Numerous studies have shown that the importance of the working atmosphere is often underestimated in many companies.
Appreciation through success, status and recognition: Most people seek recognition from friends, colleagues and superiors. They receive the desired recognition in the form of financial rewards, career advancement and a boost in self-confidence through confirmation.
